'The Colony' is a short experimental film being developed in Lithuania and Norway. Conceived as an audiovisual dialogue between two disparate sites on two shores of the Baltic sea: the shipyard at Hølen, Fredrikstad-a post-industrial landscape due for demolition to build new housing & a forest occupied by colonies of cormorant & grey heron birds on the Curonian split. Looking into spaces for human & non-human gatherings, it explores how processes of migration, occupation, and abandonment impact the landscape.
